About RCNS

Accredidation

RCNS is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education.

Additionally, RCNS is a member of the Maryland Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools (MCPPNS) and the National Association for the Education of the Young Child (NAEYC).

Our Philosophy

Our purpose is to develop in all children an interest and joy in learning about themselves, others, and the world around them. We believe in the value, dignity and self-worth of each child. Each child is treated as an individual and their potential is developed emotionally and intellectually to the fullest extent while at the same time learning the social skills of working and playing cooperatively with their classmates and teacher.

Faculty & Staff

Our Director is Kim Mahoney. All teachers have four-year degrees and extensive experience in teaching young children. There is one teacher and one co-op parent in every class. Additionally, there are two classroom aides who assist throughout the school.
